Job summary

Global Testing Services in Canning Vale, Western Australia, seeks a skilled Chemist to join its oil laboratory on a permanent full-time basis. You will perform routine and advanced testing, manage samples, maintain instruments, and ensure results meet ISO/IEC 17025 standards while delivering accurate reports to clients.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor degree in chemistry, has 5–10 years lab experience including at least 2+ years in an oil lab, and can adapt to a fast-changing environment;

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in chemistry or related field.
• Legally able to work in Australia.
• 5–10 years of laboratory experience.
• Minimum 2+ years in an oil laboratory.
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible.
• Manual Handling (can be obtained after employment).
• Microsoft Office 365 proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Sample management and preparation.
• Laboratory testing and analysis including routine and advanced testing.
• Maintain and operate analytic instruments.
• Ensure accuracy of results by following ISO/IEC 17025 Standards.
• Review and validate test results, generating reports for clients.
• Provide recommendations to clients on abnormal findings.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to deliver accurate and timely analysis of oil samples that supports the safe, reliable operation of electrical and mechanical assets. You will perform routine and advanced testing and analysis in accordance with industry standards, maintain equipment and data integrity, and uphold strict safety and compliance requirements.

Duties:

Sample management and preparation

Laboratory testing and analysis including routine and advanced testing

TOGAS DGA, DGA,

ECD Polychlorinated Bi-Phenols, Di-Benzyl Di-Sulphide

Maintain and operate analytic instruments in good working order

Ensure accuracy of results by following ISO/IEC 17025 Standards

Ensure quality control and compliance – perform calibrations, log quality control checks

Review and validate test results, generating accurate reports for clients

Provide recommendations to clients on any abnormal findings

Investigate and resolve technical issues or challenges

Develop and improve existing theories, methods and processes

Stay current with industry standards and legislation

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor degree in a chemist related field
