Job summary

Chandler Macleod, in partnership with Rio Tinto, seeks a CAT 777 Haul Truck Operator to support mining operations at Gove, NT. The role is on site with FIFO from Cairns and Darwin, on an 8/6 roster, with safety as a priority.

You will work with experienced crews, conduct pre-starts, haul ore and waste, and help maintain production targets while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CAT 777 haul trucks or similar mining equipment.
• Previous mine site or production mining experience preferred.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and following site procedures.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 777 haul trucks safely and efficiently.
• Carry out pre-start checks and routine equipment inspections.
• Haul ore and waste per mine plans and production schedules.
• Report hazards, defects, near-misses and incidents promptly.
• Maintain accurate operational records and support safety culture.

Through Rio Tinto's partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced CAT 777 Dump Truck Operator to support day-to-day mining operations in the Gove region, NT.

This is a great opportunity to join a safety-focused team working on site with Rio Tinto. You'll work alongside experienced crews, supporting production targets while contributing to safe and reliable outcomes.

Reporting to the site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating Caterpillar 777 haul trucks safely and efficiently
• Conducting pre-starts and routine equipment checks
• Hauling ore/waste in line with mine plans, procedures and production schedules
• Reporting hazards, defects, near-misses and incidents promptly
• Maintaining accurate operational records and supporting a strong safety culture

About You

• Demonstrated experience operating CAT 777 (or similar mining haul trucks)
• Previous mine site / production mining experience (highly regarded)
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dedication to everyone's safety and following site procedures
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
