Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group, in partnership with Rio Tinto, seeks an experienced CAT 777 Dump Truck Operator for on-site support at the Gove region, NT. This FIFO role requires proven heavy haulage experience and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced mining environment.

You'll perform pre-starts, operate haul trucks safely, and align with mine plans while contributing to reliable production and a strong safety culture. FIFO from Cairns & Darwin available.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating CAT 777 or similar mining haul trucks.
• Previous mine site/production mining experience preferred.
• Current Australian Driver Licence is required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate Caterpillar 777 haul trucks safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-starts and routine equipment checks.
• Haul ore/waste per mine plans and schedules.
• Report hazards, defects, near-misses and incidents promptly.
• Maintain accurate operational records and uphold safety culture.

Through Rio Tinto's partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced CAT 777 Dump Truck Operator to support day-to-day mining operations in the Gove region, NT.

This is a great opportunity to join a safety-focused team working on site with Rio Tinto. You'll work alongside experienced crews, supporting production targets while contributing to safe and reliable outcomes.

Reporting to the site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating Caterpillar 777 haul trucks safely and efficiently
• Conducting pre-starts and routine equipment checks
• Hauling ore/waste in line with mine plans, procedures and production schedules
• Reporting hazards, defects, near-misses and incidents promptly
• Maintaining accurate operational records and supporting a strong safety culture

About You

• Demonstrated experience operating CAT 777 (or similar mining haul trucks)
• Previous mine site / production mining experience (highly regarded)
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dedication to everyone’s safety and following site procedures
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
