JBS Dinmore Plant in Ipswich, QLD, is seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor (Boning Room) to lead a large team in a fast-paced beef processing facility. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, you will drive production while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

You will manage staffing, uphold regulatory requirements and foster a cooperative working environment. Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the meat industry essential.
• Leadership experience in a similar role highly regarded.

• Competency with Excel, Word and Outlook.

• Ensure regulatory requirements for fresh beef production are met.

• Oversee competency requirements and adherence to company policies.
• Provide OH&S training and ensure safe work practices.
• Prepare departmental production reports in a timely manner.

JBS Australia, part of the global JBS business, is the largest and most respected meat and food processor in Australia with a strong portfolio of leading beef, lamb, pork, salmon and value-added products. Our Northern division operates five beef processing plants across Queensland and Northern NSW, producing more than 400,000 tonnes of beef products every year.

Located in Ipswich in South East Queensland, the JBS Dinmore Plant is the largest beef processing facility in the southern hemisphere. The plant employs approximately 2,000 team members with a processing capacity of 3,400 head of cattle per day.

About the Role

JBS Dinmore is currently recruiting an experienced Fabrication Supervisor (Boning Room) to join our high performing team. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and engaging a large diverse team of Fabrication team members, ensuring we have a productive, engaged and safe team
• Maintaining all necessary relationships to ensure maximum production and continued production of a high-quality product
• Ensuring all regulatory requirements are met regarding fresh beef production
• Ensuring teams are adequately manned to meet the daily production requirements
• Ensuring all team members meet the competency requirements to carry out the tasks allotted to them
• Ensuring all employees are supervised and managed in a manner in line with company values and the employee handbook including code of conduct
• Monitoring departmental Leads regarding knowledge of current chemical leans, cutting lines, and packaging, having ensured that the scales are tested physically daily
• Ensuring pre-operational hygiene inspection defects as highlighted by the Lead’s inspection, are corrected prior to start
• Checking the Leads understanding of special procedures or operations and the need to implement when occasion arises
• Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace is maintained and safe work practices are developed, implemented and maintained
• Coordinating OH&S training programs for Leads and employees, ensuring all are familiar with acceptable rules
• Completing all required departmental management production report in a timely manner

About You

• Previous experience in the meat industry essential
• Previous experience in a similar leadership position highly regarded
• Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
• Demonstratable problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
• Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
• Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
