Job summary

QT Hotels & Resorts, EVT’s premium lifestyle hotel brand, seeks a maintenance technician to uphold high standards across our Canberra property. You will perform routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC tasks while ensuring safety and minimal downtime in guest areas and back-of-house spaces.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance, repair or a related field.
• Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general handyperson tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and for on-call emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, including plumbing repairs, electrical work and HVAC system checks.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Repair or replace damaged furniture, fixtures and equipment, and paint and touch up surfaces.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, such as leaks, power outages and heating or cooling problems.
• Complete regular safety inspections, report hazards and assist with fire alarm system testing and maintenance.
• Maintain an organised inventory of maintenance supplies and order stock as needed.
