Job summary

Andaz Gold Coast, part of Hyatt, is seeking a practical Handyperson to support the Engineering team. You’ll handle upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas, respond to maintenance requests and help create a safe, comfortable hotel environment.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills, reliability, and the ability to work shifts including weekends. Ongoing and current Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a handyperson, maintenance or facilities role
• Practical skills across general building and property maintenance
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong attention to detail
• Good communication and time-management skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to safety and quality
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends when required
• Trade qualifications are valued but not essential
• Must already have ongoing and current working rights for Australia

• Complete general repairs and maintenance across the hotel
• Assist with painting, patching, carpentry, tiling and basic plumbing tasks
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests
• Support preventative maintenance programs
• Keep guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces in excellent condition
• Work safely and follow all relevant procedures
• Liaise with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional work area
