Job summary

Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach, a refined Accor hotel, seeks a hands-on Maintenance Associate to support preventative maintenance, pool procedures, and room upkeep. You will perform repairs, assist with water treatment, lighting, and painting, and help maintain guest rooms and back-of-house areas.

Working in a dynamic hotel environment, you will handle weekly tasks, safety protocols, and clerical duties, with afternoon and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance or trade experience across general engineering, handyman, or facilities tasks.
• Solid administrative and clerical skills, with computer literacy to support departmental record-keeping.
• Sound knowledge of safe manual handling and workplace health and safety practices.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance, Rooms Maintenance programs, and swimming pool procedures.
• Complete daily pool chemistry readings and assist with water treatment monitoring and dosage.
• Carry out handyman and maintenance tasks across guest rooms, front of house, and back of house areas.
• Replace light bulbs and perform limited painting tasks as required.
• Complete room inspection and daily inspection checklists as scheduled.
• Isolate/de-isolate smoke detectors and re-program Vingcard/Elsafe locks.
• Clean plant rooms and ensure works meet codes and standards.
• Assist with departmental clerical duties and weekly tasks.
• Complete jobs registered on the TRITON works system, ensuring guestrooms receive maintenance three times per year.
• Carry out shift duties, including afternoons and weekends.
• Show attention to detail in all tasks performed.
