Hilton Darwin is seeking a proactive Handyperson to support hotel operations through general maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks across facilities and grounds. You will work with colleagues from all departments to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming guest spaces.

You will inspect rooms and public areas, perform painting and basic repairs, maintain pool facilities, and follow safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance, repairs, or a similar maintenance role.
• Practical skills in painting, basic repairs, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices and safe use of chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to support positive guest experiences.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use maintenance management systems.
• Flexibility to respond to operational requirements and emergency situations as required.

Responsabilités

• Carry out repairs and maintenance work to approved standards and safe work practices
• Perform regular inspections of hotel facilities, rooms, and public areas to identify maintenance requirements
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including general non-trade repairs and painting work
• Maintain and update maintenance requests through the M1 maintenance system and ensure timely completion of work orders
• Prioritize maintenance activities based on operational and guest needs
• Support quality assurance initiatives, including room inspections and rectification of identified defects
• Maintain hotel pool facilities, including cleaning, chemical testing, and routine maintenance
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance concerns and contribute to minimizing guest complaints
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, chemical handling requirements, and emergency response protocols
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve hotel operational goals
• Support Hilton's sustainability and community engagement initiatives
