Job summary

General Plastic Ballarat is seeking a Full Time Assistant to join our small, hands-on team. The role blends workshop duties with customer service at the front desk, including helping customers, processing orders, and supporting production with tools and machines.

Training will be provided on our processes, ensuring a safe, efficient workflow in a friendly environment. The ideal candidate is practical, reliable and detail-oriented, with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confidence using computers and processing customer orders.
• A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Forklift licence preferred.
• CNC router and/or laser cutting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to prepare and finish plastic products.
• Assist with machine operation, including the CNC router and laser cutter, with training provided.
• Assist customers in person, over the phone and via email.
• Process customer orders, prepare basic paperwork and take payments.
• Provide front-desk coverage when other team members are on leave.
• Follow instructions and production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Support the team with general workshop and day-to-day duties.
