Job summary

Combined Selection Group Limited in Sydney NSW is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for bespoke machinery and automation solutions. This hands-on role covers concept through to manufacture, testing and delivery.

You will develop mechanical concepts in SolidWorks, work with pneumatic and motion control systems, and collaborate with manufacturing, automation and electrical engineers to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer.
• Experience within special purpose machinery, automation, packaging equipment or a similar environment.
• Understanding of pneumatic and motion control systems.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop customised mechanical concepts and solutions.
• Take projects from concept and detailed design through manufacture, testing and delivery.
• Producing mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
• Working with pneumatic and motion control devices and systems.
• Collaborating with mechanical, automation and electrical engineers.
• Working closely with manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Liaising with suppliers to select appropriate hardware and components.
• Working with customers to understand requirements and develop practical solutions.
• Managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Maintaining accurate engineering and project documentation.
• Identifying practical and creative solutions to engineering challenges.
