Job summary

Sharp & Carter's client in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and own key GL activities, including the month-end close.

You will prepare journals, accruals and prepayments, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with AR/AP, reporting and analysis within a collaborative finance team.

This 8-month contract offers a hybrid work arrangement in North Sydney and the chance to contribute to a well-established FMCG business.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Financial Accountant experience with GL and month-end.
• Proven ability to manage journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate financial reporting.
• Proficient in Excel and financial systems; able to explain processes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage General Ledger and support full month-end close.
• Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and other month-end tasks.
• Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities as required.
• Assist with monthly reporting and financial analysis.
• Maintain accurate records and strong controls.
• Ensure timely month-end completion and query resolution.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team on accounting processes.
• Support the Accountant and Financial Controller in daily activities.
