Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a proactive Maintenance Officer for our residential aged care facility in North Parramatta. This hands-on role focuses on keeping facilities safe, compliant, and well-maintained across electrical, plumbing and general building work.

You’ll identify issues, coordinate repairs and oversee preventative maintenance while adhering to Work Health & Safety practices. A current driver's license is essential and prior retirement living maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current driver’s license is essential.
• Trade qualification is highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience as a Maintenance Person in Retirement Living is preferred.
• Experience in building, fitter and turner, welder or plumber is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building work).
• Maintain outdoor spaces with gardening and grounds maintenance (mowing, hedging, sweeping, hosing).
• Complete planned preventative maintenance per site schedules.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests in designated areas.
• Monitor maintenance works for regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to Work Health & Safety practices.
