Job summary

Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT – North Parramatta NSW is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer for a full-time role at our residential aged care facility in North Parramatta. You will own the facility’s upkeep, identifying issues, coordinating repairs, and maintaining a safe environment.

Key responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance, gardening, planned preventive tasks, reactive requests, and ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting WHS practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance across facilities.
• Hands-on practical maintenance skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
• Ability to coordinate repairs and follow safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building work).
• Gardening and grounds maintenance — mowing, hedging, sweeping, hosing and upkeep.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance in line with site schedules.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests across designated areas.
• Monitoring maintenance works to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Actively contributing to Work Health & Safety practices.

The role:

Looking for a hands‑on role where your skills truly matter? We’re on the lookout for a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our team on a Full‑Time basis (Monday to Friday) at our residential aged care facility in North Parramatta.

As our Maintenance Officer, you’ll take ownership of the facility’s upkeep, ensuring everything operates efficiently and safely. You’ll be the go‑to person for identifying issues, coordinating repairs, and keeping our environment at the highest standard.

What are your key responsibilities?

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building work)
• Keeping our outdoor spaces looking their best with gardening and grounds maintenance — mowing, hedging, sweeping, hosing and general upkeep
• Completing planned preventative maintenance in line with site schedules

• Actively contributing to Work Health & Safety practices
