Job summary

Hardware & General is seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager for our Hornsby store. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will support daily operations, lead the team and ensure excellent service, while occasionally overseeing the site in the Site Manager's absence.

We value proven experience in retail, trade, hardware or building supplies and a hands-on, solutions-focused approach to keep a busy site running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, trade, hardware or similar customer-focused environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate and support a team.
• Strong customer service, communication and sales skills.
• Good organisational skills and understanding of stock management.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
• Hands-on and solutions-focused approach.
• Trade/building supplies knowledge is highly regarded.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Full Australian working rights without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.
• Assist customers with product advice and suitable solutions.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, receipting and stocktakes.
• Coordinate picking, packing, loading and distribution.
• Process quotes, sales orders, returns and payments accurately.
• Support rostering, site operations and workload planning.
• Maintain site presentation, housekeeping and WHS.
