Job summary

Warrnambool Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Ballarat seeks a dedicated Hand Therapist (OT or PT) to join a multidisciplinary team. You will assess and treat upper limb conditions, providing splinting, manual therapy and exercise programs aligned with surgical care.

Collaborating with plastic surgeons, therapists and pathology experts, you’ll ensure integrated care from injury through rehabilitation, documenting progress and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
• Registration with AHPRA and a minimum of 2 years’ hand therapy or upper limb rehabilitation experience
• Strong understanding of upper limb anatomy and pathologies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to patient-centred care and ongoing professional development

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess upper limb patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Provide hands-on treatment such as splinting, manual therapy and exercise prescription
• Collaborate with plastic surgeons and other therapists to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients on condition management and rehabilitation
• Maintain accurate patient records and participate in continuing education
