Job summary

Midginbil Eco Resort is seeking a reliable, hands-on individual or couple for a dual live-in role. You will support guest experience and venue operations while performing light maintenance and limited gardening, on a 400-acre rural property in NSW's Northern Rivers.

Accommodation is provided in a private on-site home. The role is part-time with weekend work and flexible days, ideal for someone who enjoys presenting a boutique venue and outdoor work in a tranquil setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in live-in caretaking, property or rural property is preferred.
• Ability to manage guest-facing duties with attention to presentation.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests attending weddings and events, primarily on weekends.
• Serve as a friendly, professional point of contact for guests.
• Support guest experience and venue presentation.
• Perform general light handyman work.
• Limited garden maintenance and mowing.
• Monitor facilities and infrastructure for upkeep.
• Ensure shared spaces and accommodation are clean and well-maintained.

About Us & the Property

Midginbil Eco Resort is a 400-acre sub-tropical property located in the Tweed Valley hinterland of northern New South Wales. The resort sits under the escarpment of the heritage-listed Nightcap National Park. We're a well-known destination events venue, hosting weddings, retreats and groups, with a strong reputation for our relaxed, multi-day country experience.

About the Role

This is a dual position supporting both guest experience and property operations. A live-in position with accommodation provided onsite in your own private home.

Ideally, you would:

• notice the small details and fix issues before they become problems.
• be practical, self-motivated, and take ownership of your work.
• work well independently and stay organised.
• stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• be well-presented, friendly, confident and professional with guests.
• know when to step in, and when to stay behind the scenes.
• be comfortable living onsite in a rural setting.
• bring experience from a live-in caretaking, property or park management, accommodation venue, or rural property, along with light maintenance skills.

Your responsibilities would include:

Guest Support & Venue Operations

• welcoming guests attending weddings and events, predominantly weekends.
• acting as a friendly, professional point of contact.
• supporting overall guest experience and venue presentation.

Light Maintenance & Property Appearance

• general light handyman work.
• limited garden maintenance/mowing.
• ongoing monitoring of facilities and infrastructure.
• ensuring shared spaces and accommodation areas are clean and well-maintained.

Availability

• A minimum of 3 out of 4 weekends per month (aligned with weddings and events) i.e. 12 days per month.
• A minimum of 3 days per week.
• Flexibility based on bookings.
• 5 weeks off from Christmas to end of January.
