Job summary

Lancemore Milawa is seeking a hands-on Handyperson/Gardener to maintain the gardens and assist with hotel maintenance at our boutique property in Victoria. You will deliver high presentation standards across gardens and public areas, with duties including lawn care, pruning, turfing, and pest control while supporting day-to-day hotel upkeep.

The role requires practical problem-solving, reliable teamwork, and the ability to coordinate contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Positive and optimistic attitude with a can-do approach.
• Experience with fixing day-to-day things (lights, taps, painting).
• Ability to coordinate contractors to get efficient results.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice highly regarded.
• Hands-on role with hotel experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional presentation of the gardens & grounds across the property.
• Mow, edge, prune, fertilise, plant, turf, pest and disease control.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance in hotel rooms and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
• Maintain all tools, equipment and working areas.
• Assist with long-term planning and development of the property.

We are currently looking for Handyperson/Gardeners who are passionate, hands-on and are guest focused

About The Role

• Deliver exceptional presentation of the gardens & grounds across the property.
• Knowledge of modern techniques in Lawn mowing and edging, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilising, planting, turfing, pest and disease control,
• Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties within the hotel rooms and public areas
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency calls
• Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in proper condition
• Make recommendations for the property and assist with the long-term planning and development of the complex.

About You

• Logical approach to problem solving
• Ability to coordinate contractors to get efficient results
• Ability to understand what the customer sees – and ensure our property is always kept to the highest standard
• Ability to work with teams, and communicate clearly and in time
• Knowledge of a trade beneficial
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice highly regarded
• Strong communication skills
• Supervisory experience of maintenance activities in a fast-moving lean environment
• Hands on role with a solid understanding, ideally experience in hotels
