Job summary

Sharp & Carter in Victoria, Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the monthly close and own the balance sheet. This is a growth-focused role ideal for someone transitioning from audit into industry.

You’ll work closely with the FC and FP&A, review complex journals, manage reconciliations and provide insightful analysis to enable strong business decisions. CA/CPA designation is required.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with around 5 years of experience.
• Big 4 or mid-tier audit/assurance background.
• Strong knowledge of AASB and IFRS standards.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month end close, delivering accurate results on time.
• Prepare, review and post complex journals including accruals, provisions and intercompany.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and keep controls tight.
• Analyse results, explain variances and flag risks and opportunities to the FC.
• Prepare monthly reporting and commentary that supports decision making.
• Run year end and act as the key contact for internal and external auditors.
• Partner with FP&A on budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
