Tourism and Events Queensland is seeking a Group Executive Events to steer Queensland's events strategy and calendar. You will sit on the Executive Leadership Team and report to the CEO, guiding the Events Group across major, destination, mega and strategic events, and overseeing the Mega and Strategic Events Fund.

This is a high-impact role with responsibilities spanning government engagement, partnerships with rights holders and industry, and delivering a balanced statewide events calendar to

Qualifications

• Senior executive with career across major events, sport, entertainment or related commercial environments.
• Experience identifying opportunities, securing major events and developing partnerships.
• Strong understanding of event acquisition, commercial negotiations and investment assessment.
• Experience engaging with Boards, government decision-makers and major event owners.

Responsabilités

• Leading TEQ's events strategy and curating a balanced, high-value calendar across leisure and business events.
• Identifying, pursuing and securing major national and international events that lift Queensland's profile.
• Overseeing rigorous investment assessment and presenting compelling business cases to senior government decision-makers.
• Leading complex, high-stakes negotiations that deliver strong returns while protecting TEQ's interests.
• Providing trusted advice to the CEO, Board and government on event strategy, investment and risk.
• Strengthening Queensland's business events agenda and the long-term capability of the events industry.
• Guiding TEQ's events contribution to the decade leading into Brisbane 2032.
• Leading and inspiring a talented, highly engaged team of Directors, Leaders and Specialists.
