Job summary

Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) is recruiting a Group Executive Events to lead the Events Group, setting the direction for Queensland’s events strategy and calendar. The role sits on the Executive Leadership Team and reports to the CEO, overseeing major, destination, mega, strategic and business events, as well as event operations and marketing.

Based in Brisbane, you will work with Ministers, Directors-General, and industry partners to maximise the economic and community impact of hosting

Qualifications

• Senior executive with experience across major events, sport, entertainment or related commercial environments.
• Experience identifying opportunities, securing major events and developing partnerships that deliver commercial and economic outcomes.
• Strong understanding of event acquisition, commercial negotiations, investment assessment and leveraging events for strategic benefits.

Responsibilities

• Leading TEQ's events strategy and curating a balanced calendar of high-value leisure and business events.
• Identify, pursue and secure major national and international events to lift Queensland's profile.
• Oversee investment assessment and present compelling business cases to senior government decision-makers.
