Job summary

Palm Lake Group is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper for Palm Lake Resort Yamba. The role is full-time (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and focuses on maintaining gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces to keep the resort presenting to a high standard year-round.

You will trim hedges, mow and edge, manage irrigation, and ensure equipment is well maintained. A relevant horticulture qualification and a valid C-class licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• C class licence required or equivalent.
• Gardening experience in a similar role.
• Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Hedge and tree trimming.
• Mowing, edging and whipper snipping.
• Weed and pest control using herbicides.
• Raking, blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of vegetation.
• Planting, mulching, watering and irrigation maintenance.
• Oversee outdoor presentation of facilities including BBQ and pool maintenance.
• Maintain all mechanical equipment and tools.

Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Yamba team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This is a Full Time role, working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday in a hands-on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A "C" class drivers licence;
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role;
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous;
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying.
• Initiative & the ability to work with limited supervision.
