Job summary

Palm Lake Group in Hervey Bay, Australia, is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain resort gardens, lawns and outdoor areas. This part-time role involves hands-on work of at least 25 hours weekly, keeping grounds safe, clean and visually appealing for residents and visitors year-round.

You’ll trim hedges, mow, manage irrigation, and ensure equipment is well‑kept while upholding high presentation standards across facilities.

Qualifications

• C class drivers licence requirement for operating equipment.
• Experience in garden maintenance and grounds care.
• Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Hedge, tree trimming, mowing, edging and whipper snipping to maintain pristine lawns.
• Control weeds and pests; apply herbicides as needed.
• Rake leaves, prune vegetation and manage irrigation systems.
• Plant, mulch and maintain flowers/shrubs; oversee BBQ and pool area upkeep.
• Ensure all outdoor facilities and tools are in good working order.

Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This is a Part time role, working a minimum of 25 hours per week in a hands‑on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing.

Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year‑round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

To excel in this role, you will bring

• A "C" class drivers licence;
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role;
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous;
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying.
• Initiative & the ability to work with limited supervision.
