Job summary

Palm Lake Resort Toowoomba is seeking a committed Groundskeeper to maintain gardens, lawns and outdoor spaces to a high standard for residents and visitors. This full-time role runs 38 hours per week, from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, in a hands-on capacity to keep grounds safe, clean and visually appealing.

The ideal candidate will have a C-class licence, gardening experience, and a Cert III Horticulture or equivalent; experience with mowing, edging and weed control is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a C-class driver’s licence.
• Gardening experience in a similar role.
• Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous.
• AC/DC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to operate gardening equipment listed.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming.
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping.
• Control weeds and pests with herbicides.
• Raking leaves and pruning vegetation.
• Planting, mulching, watering and irrigation maintenance.
• Oversee outdoor presentation of facilities including BBQ & pool maintenance.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good order.

Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Toowoomba team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This is a Full Time role, working 38 hours per week between the hours of 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday in a hands-on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A "C" class drivers licence;
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role;
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous;
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying.
• Initiative & the ability to work with limited supervision.
