Job summary

Palm Lake Group in Truganina, VIC, is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain resort gardens, lawns and outdoor areas 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6am to 6pm. You will ensure safety, cleanliness and visual appeal for residents and visitors year-round.

Ideal candidates have gardening experience, a C class licence, and a willingness to operate mowing and landscaping equipment. Cert III Horticulture qualification is advantageous, with training and career progression offered.

Qualifications

• Valid C class driver’s licence.
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role.
• Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous.
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to operate mowing and landscaping equipment.
• Physical ability to bend, lift and carry.
• Initiative and ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Hedge and tree trimming.
• Mowing, edging, and whipper snipping.
• Control weeds and pests through herbicides.
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposal of vegetation.
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including irrigation maintenance.
• Oversee outdoor presentation of facilities including BBQ and pool maintenance.
• Ensure all equipment and tools are kept in good working order.

Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Truganina team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition. This is a Full Time role, working 38 hours per week between 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday in a hands-on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

To excel in this role, you will bring

• A "C" class drivers licence;
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role;
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous;

• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying.
• Initiative & the ability to work with limited supervision.
