Job summary

Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay is seeking a committed Groundskeeper to maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas. This part-time role requires a minimum of 25 hours per week, with hands-on responsibilities to keep grounds safe, clean and visually appealing for residents and visitors year-round.

Ideal candidates will have a C class driver's licence, gardening experience, and relevant horticulture qualifications; licences such as ACDC are advantageous.

Qualifications

• A valid C class driver's licence.
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role.
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to operate equipment such as mowers and trimmers.
• Physically capable of bending, lifting and carrying.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming.
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping.
• Weed and pest control with herbicides.
• Raking and blowing leaves; pruning and removal of dead vegetation.
• Planting, mulching and irrigation maintenance.
• Oversee outdoor presentation of facilities incl. BBQ & pool.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.

Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This is a Part time role, working a minimum of 25 hours per weekin a hands-on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• A \"C\" class drivers licence;
• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role;
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous;

• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower
• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying.
• Initiative & the ability to work with limited supervision.
