Job summary

Palm Lake Resort in Melbourne is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain resort grounds, gardens, lawns and outdoor areas. The role is full-time, 38 hours per week, 6am–6pm, Monday to Friday, with hands-on duties to keep spaces safe, clean and visually appealing for residents and visitors year-round.

You will trim hedges, mow, weed, prune and irrigate, while keeping equipment in good order. Qualification in horticulture is advantageous and a valid chemical licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Relevant gardening experience in a similar role.
• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous.
• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower.
• Physically able to bend, lift and carry as required, with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Hedge and tree trimming.
• Mowing, edging and whipper snipping.
• Control weeds and pests using herbicides.
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning, disposing of dying vegetation.
• Planting, mulching, and irrigation maintenance.
• Oversee outdoor presentation of facilities, including BBQ and pool.
• Ensure mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order.

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groundskeeper to join our Palm Lake Resort Truganinateam and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This is a Full Time role, working 38 hours per week between 6am to 6pm Monday to Fridayin a hands-on capacity to maintain our gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. Your work will be essential to ensuring the resort grounds are presented to a high standard for our residents and visitors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Hedge & tree trimming
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order
