Job summary

City Venue Management (CVM) is recruiting a full-time Grounds Maintenance Officer to keep the grounds across our Gold Coast sites looking their best. You’ll travel between CVM sites on a regular rotation, independently managing routine lawn, garden and landscape maintenance with the equipment provided.

Applicants should have experience in grounds maintenance and be comfortable operating ride-on mowers and other equipment, with a safety-first approach.

Qualifications

• Blue Card required and Australian driver licence
• Ability to operate vehicle and trailer safely
• Licence/competencies for equipment and chemicals used
• Certificate III in Horticulture/ Landscaping highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Mowing, edging, trimming and general lawn maintenance across CVM Gold Coast sites
• Maintaining garden beds, weeding, pruning, planting and mulching
• Keep pathways and outdoor areas clean, safe and well presented
• Work to an agreed site rotation and maintenance schedule
• Safely operating and maintaining ute, trailer, ride-on mower, brush cutters and other equipment
• Safe handling and storage of chemicals, fertilisers and grounds products
• Identify hazards and maintenance needs and escalate non-routine works

Job description

City Venue Management (CVM) has been appointed to manage a number of aquatic and leisure facilities across the City of Gold Coast, and we're recruiting a full-time Grounds Maintenance Officer to keep the grounds across our Gold Coast sites looking their best.

About the Role

You’ll travel between our Gold Coast sites on a regular rotation, independently managing scheduled grounds maintenance so every facility is safe, clean and well presented. We’ll provide a company ute, trailer, ride-on mower and all the tools and equipment you need. You’ll work closely with Facility Managers and the Project Manager to identify what each site needs.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Mowing, edging, trimming and general lawn maintenance across all CVM Gold Coast sites
• Maintaining garden beds, including weeding, pruning, planting and mulching
• Keeping pathways, outdoor areas and landscaped areas clean, safe and well presented
• Working to an agreed site rotation and maintenance schedule
• Safely operating and maintaining the ute, trailer, ride-on mower, brush cutters, blowers and other equipment
• Safely using and storing chemicals, fertilisers and other grounds products
• Identifying and reporting hazards and maintenance needs, and escalating works outside the role, such as specialist tree works

About You

• Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, horticulture or a similar role
• Experience operating ride-on mowers and other grounds maintenance equipment
• Good knowledge of lawn, garden and general grounds care
• Organised and self-driven, able to plan a schedule across multiple sites and work independently
• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation, with a safety-first approach
• Comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather
• A good communicator who works well with Facility Managers and site teams
• A genuine passion for the outdoors and an active lifestyle — and just as keen to escape the traditional office environment as we are to have you on the team

A Blue Card, current Australian driver licence and the ability to safely operate a vehicle and trailer are required, along with any licences or competencies needed for the equipment and chemicals you’ll use. A Certificate III in Horticulture, Landscaping or a related discipline is highly regarded.
