Job summary

St Francis' College, Crestmead is seeking a proactive Grounds Service Coordinator to support the Facilities Grounds Service Manager in day-to-day coordination, maintenance and presentation of College grounds and facilities, creating a safe, welcoming environment for the College community.

The role requires experience maintaining gardens and playing surfaces, knowledge of irrigation and drainage, and the ability to apply pesticides safely.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining gardens, lawns, and playing surfaces.
• Knowledge of pumps, irrigation equipment, and drainage systems.
• Ability to safely distribute and apply pesticides, with operation of machinery.
• Strong organisational skills for stores and facilities management.
• Experience supervising grounds staff, tradespeople and apprentices.
• Commitment to WHS requirements.
• Certificate III or apprenticeship highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, grounds, lawns, and playing surfaces.
• Prepare ovals for sports events and carnivals.
• Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps, irrigation, and drainage.
• Manage safe distribution and application of pesticides and fertilisers.
• Operate and maintain machinery for grounds and playing fields.
• Supervise and train grounds staff, tradespeople and apprentices.
• Manage stores and facilities, including stock control and record keeping.
• Maintain a safe working environment for staff, students and visitors.
