Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education, specifically Notre Dame College in Bells Creek, is seeking a Grounds and Facilities Officer to develop and implement improvements to gardens, grounds and facilities. The role focuses on maintaining ovals, playing surfaces and irrigation systems, while supporting the safe and efficient operation of school grounds.

You will join a team dedicated to high-quality Catholic education on the Sunshine Coast, with duties spanning turf care, equipment operation and stock

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining gardens, lawns and playing surfaces.
• Knowledge of pumps, irrigation equipment and drainage systems.
• Ability to safely distribute and apply pesticides, sprays and fertilisers, with operation of machinery.
• Strong organisational skills for stores and facilities management.
• Experience supervising grounds staff, tradespeople and apprentices.
• WHS compliance and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, grounds, lawns and playing surfaces including turfing and planting.
• Prepare ovals for events and mark playing fields.
• Maintain pumps, irrigation and drainage systems.
• Distribute and apply pesticides and fertilisers safely.
• Operate machinery for lawns, turf and sports fields.
• Oversee maintenance of school buildings and facilities.
• Manage stores, stock control and records.
• Maintain a safe working environment for staff and students.
