Job summary

King’s College is seeking a Grounds and Maintenance Officer to oversee the presentation, upkeep and development of College grounds, buildings and facilities. The role supports a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, families and visitors.

You will manage gardens, lawns and infrastructure, operate and maintain machinery, coordinate contractors and support preventative maintenance while adhering to child safety and college policies.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in grounds, facilities or related field.
• Current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.
• Experience operating and maintaining grounds equipment.
• Ability to identify maintenance issues and organise repairs.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with College policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, lawns, playing fields and grassed areas to a high standard.
• Undertake minor repairs and routine maintenance of buildings, facilities and equipment.
• Promote and maintain a safe environment across College grounds and facilities.
• Work within approved grounds and maintenance budgets and coordinate contractors.
• Deliver goods and assist with event setup; respond to urgent maintenance matters.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, organised condition and supervise contractors as needed.
