Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Parks and Gardens Team Leader to oversee maintenance across parks, gardens and open spaces in Blacktown City. You will lead field operations, supervise staff and coordinate programs to keep areas clean, safe and well presented for residents and visitors.

You will manage weed control, turf and landscape maintenance, and renovation works, while ensuring safe handling of chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading parks and gardens teams.
• Ability to plan and supervise daily field operations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to maintain parks, gardens, reserves and open spaces.
• Coordinate daily work programs and allocate resources.
• Supervise staff and monitor field activities to stay on schedule.
• Oversee weed control, garden and turf maintenance, mulching and watering.
• Manage landscape maintenance and renovation projects.
• Ensure safe use of plant, equipment and chemicals; report hazards.
• Provide training, toolbox talks and ongoing coaching.
• Liaise with staff and the public to resolve issues.
