Job summary

Harmony Early Education is seeking a Greenspace Officer to maintain and enhance outdoor environments across our Brisbane, Greater Brisbane, and Ipswich centres. You will ensure safe, engaging and well-presented outdoor spaces that support children's learning.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will perform gardening, mowing, pruning, mulching, and minor repairs, while coordinating with Centre Leaders on outdoor needs and seasonal improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, horticulture or similar role.
• Ability to present high-quality outdoor spaces and safety standards.
• Driver’s licence and willingness to obtain WWCC where required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, lawns, playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces.
• Perform mowing, pruning, mulching and weeding tasks.
• Carry out minor repairs and upkeep of outdoor equipment and fixtures.
• Ensure outdoor areas meet safety and compliance standards.
• Support seasonal garden planning and improvement projects.
• Coordinate with Centre Leaders on outdoor needs and priorities.
• Manage tools, equipment and supplies responsibly.

About the Role

Reporting to our Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the presentation, safety and sustainability of our outdoor environments across multiple Harmony centres.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining gardens, lawns, playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces
• General landscaping, mowing, pruning, mulching and weeding
• Minor repairs and upkeep of outdoor equipment and fixtures
• Ensuring all outdoor areas meet safety and compliance standards
• Supporting seasonal garden planning and improvement projects
• Liaising with Centre Leaders regarding outdoor needs
• Managing tools, equipment and supplies responsibly

About You

You are someone who:

• Has experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, horticulture or a similar role
• Takes pride in maintaining high presentation standards
• Is reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently
• Holds a current Driver’s Licence
• Has a strong awareness of safety and risk management
• Enjoys working in environments that support children and families
• Holds or is willing to obtain a Working With Children Check in both QLD and NSW
• Formal qualifications in horticulture or landscaping are desirable but not essential.
