Job summary

Harmony Early Education in Brisbane is seeking a Greenspace Officer to maintain and enhance outdoor areas across our Brisbane, Greater Brisbane and Ipswich centres. This hands-on role focuses on safe, engaging outdoor learning spaces and aligns with our commitment to quality environments for children and families.

You will report to the Facilities Manager and help plan seasonal garden improvements while ensuring safety standards and proper upkeep of equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping or horticulture.
• Ability to maintain high presentation standards and safety.
• Willingness to obtain Working With Children Check (QLD/NSW) if needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, lawns, playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces.
• Perform general landscaping tasks: mowing, pruning, mulching and weeding.
• Carry out minor repairs and keep outdoor equipment in good condition.
• Ensure outdoor areas meet safety and compliance standards.
• Participate in seasonal garden planning and improvements.
• Collaborate with Centre Leaders on outdoor needs.
• Manage tools and supplies responsibly.

About the Role

Reporting to our Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the presentation, safety and sustainability of our outdoor environments across multiple Harmony centres.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining gardens, lawns, playgrounds and outdoor learning spaces
• General landscaping, mowing, pruning, mulching and weeding
• Minor repairs and upkeep of outdoor equipment and fixtures
• Ensuring all outdoor areas meet safety and compliance standards
• Supporting seasonal garden planning and improvement projects
• Liaising with Centre Leaders regarding outdoor needs
• Managing tools, equipment and supplies responsibly

About You

You are someone who:

• Has experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, horticulture or a similar role
• Takes pride in maintaining high presentation standards
• Is reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently
• Holds a current Driver’s Licence
• Has a strong awareness of safety and risk management
• Enjoys working in environments that support children and families
• Holds or is willing to obtain a Working With Children Check in both QLD and NSW
• Formal qualifications in horticulture or landscaping are desirable but not essential.
