Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking a field service engineer to support customers in Australia with on-site installation, maintenance and repair of Agilent and multi-vendor systems.

You will install and optimize hardware and software at client sites, diagnose performance issues, perform calibration and provide training while collaborating with Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D. Fresh graduates are welcomed; candidates based in Victoria are preferred and a strong customer‑service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering or sciences.
• Fresh graduates welcome; 1–2 years preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Per the listing, Perth preferred; Victoria may be considered.

Job Description

• Responsible for supporting customers through on-site activities such as installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions which may include hardware, software and networking products as well as operating systems.
• Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
• Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
• Performs maintenance and repair services.
• Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
• Proactively responds to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
• Delivers (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
• Serves as an internal resource on technical issues and manages product escalations Collaborates with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers.
• Will work in associated projects.
• May have knowledge of third-party products.
• May deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers.
• May train other field engineers or customers.
• May calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers.
• May qualify leads.
• Must consent to participate and meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites.
• Requirements may include, but are not limited to, proof of identification, proof of certification to perform the work required, customer health and safety requirements, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 -2 years of professional experience are welcome to apply. Relevant internships, part-time experience or graduate roles will be considered.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Proactive and positive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Previous customer service or customer-facing experience would be an added advantage.
• Candidates based in Perth are preferred. Candidates based in Victoria may also be considered.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.
