Job summary

Yellow Iron Fleet is seeking a Graduate Mining Engineer to join our operations team in a practical mining environment. You will support short-term planning, production reporting and field-based analysis, gaining exposure to safety, cost control and continuous improvement.

You will develop analytical, problem-solving and communication skills while working with multidisciplinary teams and using mine planning software in real-world settings.

Qualifications

• A completed or soon-to-be-completed degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• A strong commitment to health, safety and responsible mining practices.
• Sound analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• A practical mindset and willingness to spend time in an operational environment.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Competence with Microsoft Office; exposure to mine planning software will be highly regarded.
• A current driver's licence and the ability to meet site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with short-term mine planning, scheduling and production reporting.
• Monitor operational performance and investigate variances against the plan.
• Support drill and blast, load and haul, and pit development activities.
• Undertake field inspections, data collection, reconciliations and technical analysis.
• Contribute to safe work practices, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, geology and surveying teams.
• Prepare clear reports, plans and presentations for operational stakeholders.
