Job summary

Macmahon is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to safely deliver mine plans and provide technical leadership across planning, design and scheduling for hard rock surface mining projects in Western Australia.

You will work with operations, maintenance and HSEQT to optimise performance, drive plan compliance and contribute to continuous improvement, with exposure to Deswik and Xact planning tools and an 8:6 roster.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering with 4–5 years of practical experience.
• Experience in mine planning, design, scheduling and operations support.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and influence stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Deswik and Xact planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mine planning, design, scheduling and drill and blast to support safe and efficient production outcomes.
• Provide technical engineering analysis and commercial support to optimise mining performance and decision-making.
• Maintain production reporting systems and contribute to budget, forecast and progress claim development.
• Engage with operations and project teams to drive plan compliance and achieve business objectives.
• Identify and drive improvement opportunities, contribute to engineering best practice and maintain a strong focus on safety.

About the Role

Provide Senior Mining Engineering expertise to safely deliver mine plans, ensuring production plans are practicable and executable for the mining operation. This role will work closely with operations, maintenance and HSEQT to provide technical support, drive plan compliance, optimise mining activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary Degree in Mining Engineering, or equivalent, with 4 to 5 years of practical experience & previous exposure to hard rock surface mining projects highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience in mine planning, design, scheduling and operational support within a mining environment.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, influence stakeholders and support effective decision-making.
• Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in Deswik and Xact planning is preferred.
