Gordon Brothers Industries (GBI) in Australia invites graduates to join an industry-leading refrigeration team in Sydney. You will contribute to the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, gaining hands-on experience across engineering, design, and client engagement.

You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers and project specialists while working on major industrial refrigeration projects that support food production, healthcare, and manufacturing nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
• Exposure to Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics as part of your studies.
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Desire to learn from a broad range of stakeholders, including engineers, tradespeople, consultants and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and develop industrial refrigeration system designs.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, proposals, and tender submissions.
• Analyse existing refrigeration systems and identify opportunities for optimisation and upgrades.
• Support project delivery activities, including procurement, scheduling, supplier coordination, and project administration.
• Assist in managing project budgets, costs, and reporting requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
• Develop knowledge of Australian and international refrigeration standards and regulations.
• Support engineering and safety audits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and project management processes.
• Assist with commissioning and testing of new refrigeration systems.
• Provide technical support to service and maintenance teams.
• Engage with customers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Promote and uphold GBI's strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
