Job summary

Surbana Jurong in Newcastle and Canberra is recruiting a Graduate Engineer in Civil Engineering for the February 2027 program. You will work with experienced engineers on major infrastructure projects, gaining hands-on project experience, mentoring, and structured learning through the GDP.

The two-year program accelerates growth with rotations across teams, exposure to design, analysis, site visits, and opportunities to develop consulting skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D (12D or similar advantageous).

Responsibilities

• You’ll support the delivery of real infrastructure projects from day one — contributing to design, analysis and documentation while learning from experienced engineers and gaining exposure to site and project delivery.
• Contribute to the delivery of real projects by supporting design development, including drawings, models and technical documentation.
• Assist with engineering calculations and analysis across areas such as roads, drainage or structures under guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to develop an understanding of how designs are implemented on live projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design inputs and support project delivery milestones.
• Learn and apply industry standards, tools and best practice through structured development and on-the-job experience
