Job description

Start your engineering career where the energy transition is happening.

TGOOD and Brunstock Australia are known for developing some of the best young engineers in the industry. Our 3-year Graduate Engineering Program gives you real, hands-on experience across the whole business. You won’t just see one small part of a project. You’ll understand how the energy industry really works, from the first tender to the finished product.

For more than 12 years, we’ve supplied medium and high voltage substations, power transformers and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to leading utilities, EPCs and renewables developers across Australia. With local assembly and manufacturing at our Loganholme site, you’ll see the equipment you work on being built right in front of you.

The program

Over three years, you’ll rotate through key parts of the business:

  • Tendering:Learn how major energy projects are priced and won. Read specifications, prepare technical submissions and work with customers and consultants.
  • Sales:Work alongside our sales team with utilities, EPCs and developers, and learn how customer relationships are built.
  • Project engineering:Help deliver real projects, including design reviews, documentation, factory testing, and working with site teams through to commissioning.
  • Hands-on in the factory:Work with our electrical team in the factory and learn how substations and equipment are assembled, wired and tested.

Throughout the program you’ll have mentoring from experienced engineers and managers, real responsibility from day one, and a clear path to a permanent role at the end.

We’re hiring for multiple graduate positions. Not every engineer wants the same career, and that’s fine with us. If you’re more drawn to sales, tendering, project engineering or technical work, apply and tell us in your cover letter what you’re passionate about. We’ll work with you to shape the program around your strengths.

What you’ll bring
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (completed)
  • Some relevant work experience, such as vacation work, an internship, a cadetship or part-time work in an electrical or engineering setting
  • A genuine interest in power systems, substations and renewable energy
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Full working rights in Australia and a current driver’s licence
Nice to have:
  • Exposure to substations, switchgear, transformers or BESS
  • Interest in the commercial side of engineering, such as tendering and sales
  • A structured 3-year program that covers the whole business, not just one role
  • Work on real projects that support Australia’s energy transition
  • Hands-on factory experience with the equipment you’ll go on to sell and deliver
  • Mentoring from experienced engineers and the backing of a global group
  • A growing business where good people move up quickly
  • A friendly, supportive team that works hard and has fun

If you’re an electrical engineering graduate who wants a broad, practical start to your career, we’d love to hear from you.
