Job summary

SMEC, part of the SJ Group, seeks a recent Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the Rail & Metro team in North Sydney. You'll contribute to major rail and metro infrastructure projects alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on project exposure from day one.

Through the two-year Graduate Development Program, you'll receive mentoring, structured learning, and cross-team exposure to build consulting and engineering skills for a positive impact on real-world infrastructure.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D (12D or similar advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of real infrastructure projects from day one across design, analysis and documentation.
• Assist with engineering calculations and analysis under guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to understand project delivery in practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design inputs and milestones.
• Learn and apply industry standards and best practices through development and hands-on experience.
