Job summary

Convil Group, a Sydney-based civil construction company, is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer or final-year Civil Engineering student to join our team in Sydney, NSW. You will work with Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Project Managers, gaining hands-on experience in planning, site coordination, QA, safety and documentation.

The role provides exposure to live civil projects across Sydney with travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day delivery and coordination of civil construction projects.
• Assist Project and Site Engineers with site activities and planning.
• Monitor construction progress and coordinate on-site activities.
• Review drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Assist with procurement of materials and coordination of suppliers.
• Assist with subcontractor coordination and monitoring of works.
• Prepare and maintain QA documentation, ITPs and project records.
• Support RFIs, site records and progress reporting.

Graduate Civil Engineer / Final Year Civil Engineering Student

Convil Group is a Sydney-based civil construction company delivering civil infrastructure projects across Sydney and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer or final-year Civil Engineering student to join our team and gain practical experience in the delivery of civil construction projects.

About the Role

This position is suited to a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to start their career in civil construction, or a final-year Civil Engineering student looking to gain hands-on industry experience while completing their degree.

You will work closely with our Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Project Managers and Site Supervisors, gaining exposure to both site operations and project delivery.

The role will provide practical experience across planning, site coordination, quality, safety, procurement, subcontractor management and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day delivery and coordination of civil construction projects
• Assist Project and Site Engineers with site activities and planning
• Monitor construction progress and assist with daily site coordination
• Review construction drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Assist with site measurements, quantities and material take-offs
• Assist with procurement of materials and coordination of suppliers
• Assist with subcontractor coordination and monitoring of works
• Prepare and maintain QA documentation, ITPs, inspection records and project documentation
• Assist with RFIs, site records, progress reporting and other project correspondence
• Assist with WHS and environmental requirements on site
• Attend site inspections and project meetings where required
• Work with supervisors and site teams to identify and resolve construction issues
• Maintain accurate records of works completed on site
• Support the wider project team as required

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you should:

• Have completed, or be in the final year of, a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Have a genuine interest in civil construction and site-based project delivery
• Be willing to work across both site and office environments
• Have good written and verbal communication skills
• Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks
• Be willing to learn and take on increasing responsibility
• Be comfortable working as part of a project and site team
• Hold a current Australian driver's licence
• Have Australian work rights

Previous experience in civil construction, engineering, council projects or site-based work will be highly regarded but is not essential.
