Job summary

The Shire of Banana is seeking a skilled grader operator to efficiently operate plant for road maintenance and construction projects in Queensland.

You will maintain and service equipment, read basic plans, comply with safety procedures, and participate in training and toolbox talks. This role requires a valid C-class manual driver licence and a commitment to WHS and public works standards, with weekend availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy vehicles within a maintenance or construction infrastructure environment.
• Sound literacy, numeracy and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate grader for road construction and maintenance.
• Operate other plant/equipment as required by the work teams.
• Maintain and service plant daily per procedures.
• Record plant diary and timesheets; report defects.
• Implement traffic management plans when required.
• Liaise with staff, client, and authorities to support operations.
