Job summary

Southport Golf Club on the Gold Coast is seeking a Full-Time Golf Shop Supervisor to lead daily shop operations and deliver an exceptional member experience. You will work with the Golf Operations Manager and broader team to ensure smooth service delivery, accurate competition results, and high standards of customer care.

The role requires strong golf knowledge, experience in fittings and sales, and familiarity with MiClub software.

Qualifications

• Strong golf knowledge and understanding of Rules of Golf.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in club fittings and sales (essential).
• Experience in a golf operations or supervisory role (desirable).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare golf timesheets in accordance with Club policies.
• Set up, run, and close Club competitions and events with accurate results and prizes.
• Update Club website with competition results and related content.
• Review and develop Conditions of Play.
• Assist rostering, staff supervision, and mentoring of junior team members.
• Support retail and merchandising operations and special ordering.
• Oversee daily golf shop operations, including golf cart management and driving range.
• Build and assist pennant teams and interclub events.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver member events.
• Deliver club fitting service using Trackman system.

Founded in 1924, Southport Golf Club is recognised as one of the premier private member clubs on the Gold Coast. The professional team in the club-owned golf shop manages all aspects of golf for members and their guests. The Club enjoys a thriving membership of over 1,500, with approximately 55,000 rounds played annually.

An opportunity exists to join Southport Golf Club in the role of Full-Time Golf Shop Supervisor. We are seeking a natural leader with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven golf industry experience.

This is a hands-on supervisory role working closely with the Golf Operations Manager and wider operations team. You will be involved in all aspects of a high-level golf operation, ensuring the smooth delivery of daily services and an exceptional member experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare all golf timesheets in accordance with Club policies.
• Set up, run, and close Club competitions and special events, ensuring accurate results and prize allocations.
• Ensure the Club website is updated with competition results, holes-in-one, and related content.
• Review and develop Conditions of Play.
• Assist with rostering, staff supervision, and mentoring of junior team members.
• Support retail and merchandising operations and special ordering.
• Oversee daily golf shop operations, including golf cart management and driving range.
• Build and assist with pennant teams and interclub events.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to deliver member and Club events.
• Deliver club fitting service utilising the clubs Trackman system
