Job summary

Cairns Golf Club is hiring a Pro Shop Assistant to join a small, high-performing team. You will serve members and visitors, manage lightweight retail tasks, assist with golf cart logistics and handle bookings for social and competition play.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, a positive outlook, and flexibility to work across a 7-day roster from 5:30am to 7pm. Golf knowledge is a plus, RSA is required.

Qualifications

• RSA certification is required.
• Golf knowledge is an advantage but not essential.
• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Be positive, confident and enjoy working in a small team.
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs (Email, Word, Excel).
• Roster flexibility as we operate 7 days from 5:30am–7pm.
• Basic use of modern Point of Sale units.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat and clean environment in the golf shop (counters, shelves, displays).
• Assist with golf cart collection and return to and from the cart shed (including cleaning and washing carts).
• Monitor Driving Range users.
• Provide retail services to Members and public visitors to the Club.
• Handle Golf Bookings for social and competition play.

Cairns Golf Club is the largest and busiest Golf Club in Far North Qld. The Club is a modern facility and has modern values. With over 1,000 members, 25,000 public users of the facility, and nearly 70,000 rounds of golf a year, no 2 days are the same. The Club is continually growing and evolving with constant improvements in all areas. We have a floodlit Driving Range, air-conditioned Clubhouse, 60+ golf carts, 30 staff and an 18-hole championship golf course.

Qualifications & experience

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
• Golf knowledge an advantage but not essential
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Be positive, confident & love working in a small team environment
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs for email, Word & Excel
• Flexibility with roster availability as we operate 7 days from 5:30am - 7pm
