Job summary

WestRock Company is seeking a hands-on team member to assist on the gluing line, supporting setup, quality checks, and maintenance to ensure smooth production of printed and cut cartons.

The role involves feeding, packing or palletizing duties and requires good communication and ability to read technical drawings. Training and cross-functional collaboration are available on site.

Qualifications

• Able to read technical drawings (Knife/Glue Line).
• Understand basic machine function.
• Knowledge of standards and process.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operator with setup of the machine to the required standard for conversion or embellishment (make ready).
• Assess product for quality standards and perform quality checks.
• Assist the gluing machine operator to meet quality and productivity targets.
• Conduct routine maintenance with the operator per the Daily Equipment Care checklist.
• Coordinate workload with the operator to keep the machine running smoothly.

About The Role

To assist the Gluing operator to achieve high quality results in the conversion of printed and cut finished cartons. The role will support the day-to-day delivery of production on the line in either feeding, packing or palletizing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Operator with the setup of the machine to the standard required in preparation for the conversion or embellishment (make ready)
• Assess product for meeting quality standards, undertake quality checks
• Assist the Operator with the gluing machine to ensure quality and productivity requirements are met
• Conduct routine maintenance with the operator in accordance with the Daily Equipment Care checklist
• Review workload with the operator to ensure all preparation work is managed in a timely manner to ensure continuous running of the machine
• Responsible for housekeeping within department in accordance with GMP Policy and Audits.
• Assist in cross training other staff where applicable
• Coordinate and liaise with operator to ensure jobs are prepped

Qualification

• 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings (Knife/Glue Line)
• Understand basic machine function
• Understand ‘pre make ready’ process
• Knowledge of standards and process
• Ability to communicate effectively
