Job summary

Capital Limited seeks an Operations Training Manager for Mining and Drilling to design and manage technical and operational training programs that build workforce capability and ensure safe, compliant operations across global projects.

You will lead competency frameworks, LMS strategy, and external certification initiatives, coordinating with Project Leaders, HSE and HR to prioritise training needs and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years combined operational and training experience within the mining, drilling or heavy-industry sector.
• Minimum 4 years operational drilling or mining site experience (not off-siding) providing operational credibility.
• Minimum 4 years training, assessment or training management experience in an operational environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing operational competency frameworks across multiple sites or projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating trainers and assessors across geographically distributed operations.
• Experience implementing or managing Learning Management Systems and operational reporting/dashboard tools.
• Experience managing external training providers, RTOs or technical certification programmes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage technical and operational training programs.
• Develop and maintain the Group framework for operational training and competency.
• Manage mandatory and technical training compliance across operations.
• Lead operational L&D digitization, including LMS strategy and dashboards.
• Oversee external training providers and technical certifications.
• Report to Board and Audit Committee on testing status and remediation plans.
• Lead readiness for new-project mobilization and training deployment across sites.

Education

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

RII40920 Certificate IV in Drilling Operations

Diploma or higher qualification in Training and Assessment, WHS, Human Resources or related

NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

Formal qualifications in learning technology, instructional design or digital learning
