Job summary

Gartner, Inc. seeks an senior security leader for event operations. You will assess and implement security standards for large-scale events, partner with events teams, and manage on-site security and vendor relationships.

The role involves safeguarding venues, coordinating with law enforcement, and ensuring compliance across locations. Travel up to 40% globally and work across APAC markets, especially Australia, Japan, and India, with hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of event security operations experience
• Fluency in English required; Japanese listening/speaking preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams, stakeholders, vendors and clients
• Operational experience managing security vendors, guard services and venue security teams
• Expertise in threat management, protective intelligence and personal protective processes
• Strong understanding of industry legislations and compliance requirements
• Ability to apply skills to complex client issues in commercial security
• Good operational judgment and adaptability to changing priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to present to senior audiences
• Proficient with basic Microsoft software programs

Responsibilities

• Assess, identify, and implement appropriate security and safety standards for Gartner events based on type, location, and risk profile
• Partner with Gartner Conferences and events teams to determine and implement appropriate security measures
• Manage event security vendors ensuring security planning and on-site security meet Gartner standards
• Manage relationships with venue security & safety teams, venue management, and local law enforcement
• Ensure Gartner events, venues, and vendor services meet all legal requirements for security and health & safety
• Manage event security vendors to ensure optimal performance and customer service
• Implement event security crisis management plans and respond to emergencies while maintaining client/security relationships
• Execute against executive and VIP security standards and measures
• Partner with GSS partners on event-specific intelligence gathering and notifications
• Liaise with external resources on event security best practices
• Support other executive protection and security incidents as necessary
