Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in Melbourne is expanding its Forensic Technology Services team. As a Director, you will lead client engagements across disputes, corporate investigations and post-acquisition matters, delivering end-to-end forensic technology solutions.

You will advise clients and legal counsel, marshal cross-functional teams, manage data preservation and eDiscovery workflows, and contribute to business development while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in digital forensics, eDiscovery, cybersecurity or forensic analytics in a client-facing professional services environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading engagements and teams and managing relationships with clients and legal counsel.
• Sound technical understanding of forensic principles and the EDRM.
• Experience scoping forensic preservation of data from endpoints, cloud platforms, mobile devices and social media.
• Working knowledge of eDiscovery platforms (Nuix Discover, Relativity, Reveal) and forensic tool suites.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to produce clear, client-ready work product.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead forensic technology, digital forensics and eDiscovery engagements from scoping through delivery across disputes, white-collar crime investigations and post-acquisition matters.
• Advise clients, legal counsel and internal teams on evidence preservation, forensic data handling and best practices in data and evidence protection.
• Guide and lead client interviews and information gathering, and set and communicate client expectations consistently.
• Oversee forensic collection, preservation, processing, analysis, review and production, ensuring data integrity and chain-of-custody procedures are maintained.
• Review technical reports and summaries for legal teams and clients, and support expert witness work where required.
• Identify risks and obstacles early, create contingency plans and communicate promptly with clients.
• Own multiple workstreams simultaneously, ensuring project approach, timeline and deliverables are logical, reasonable and accurate.
• Work alongside colleagues across Disputes and Investigations, Performance Improvement and Restructuring to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support business development, including proposals, client relationships and market engagement.
• Coach and mentor team members at all levels and help recruit and develop exceptional people.
