Job summary

Council is seeking an Asset Field Mapping Officer to collect and validate asset information through field inspections, GPS and GIS tools. You will help maintain asset records and support reporting for lifecycle planning and compliance.

The role blends fieldwork with technology, requiring attention to detail and teamwork within the Assets team. A permanent, full-time position with growth and learning opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with spatial data collection and GIS mapping.
• Proficiency with GPS hardware and mobile data collection systems.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of Council assets.
• Capture spatial and asset data using GPS, mobile devices and GIS.
• Validate and update asset records against databases and docs.
• Photograph and link imagery to asset locations and GIS records.
• Maintain GIS and Asset Management System data integrity and QA checks.
• Assist with digital maps, spatial datasets and as-built data for projects.
• Identify data gaps, errors and non-conformities and address them.
• Support asset reporting and grant data requirements.
