Job summary

City of Wagga Wagga is seeking an Asset Field Mapping Officer to collect, validate and maintain asset information using field inspections, GPS, GIS, and mobile data capture. You will support asset management planning and lifecycle forecasting across our infrastructure network.

The role blends fieldwork with office data management, fostering professional growth in GIS, asset management and spatial data systems within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience in spatial data collection, GIS mapping and GPS technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Class C Driver's Licence and White Card (GC) and construction induction knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of Council assets.
• Use GPS equipment, mobile devices and GIS technology to capture spatial and asset data.
• Validate and update asset records against databases and documentation.
• Photograph and link imagery to spatial locations.
• Maintain asset information within GIS and Asset Management Systems.
• Assist with digital maps and spatial datasets development and maintenance.
• Identify data gaps and rectify errors.
• Perform QA checks for data integrity and compliance.
• Support as-built data capture for capital works and subdivisions.
• Assist with asset reporting and grant data requirements.
